Game Infrastructure with Preservation Built-In

The World of Gaming Has a Problem. Firewood is a Solution.

What is Firewood?

Firewood is a US patent-pending system that ensures player data lives on - verifiable, secured, and accessible - across official and community/private servers. It leverages decentralized technology to ensure players truly own their game profiles, while also trustable to all parties.

Decency Gaming is a team aiming to bring Firewood into as many online games as possible. Founded by Erhan Qu, a former game producer in an AAA game studio, Decency Gaming sees the problem, advocates for a change and provides a solution.

What is Decency Gaming?

Why Does It Matter?

With an increasing and concerning amount of games being delisted or unplayable due to server closure, gaming communities have been resentful due to loss of games they spend time, effort and money on. Gamers are pushing back, and such demands are not going to vanish. But the industry needs a real solution to become more sustainable -and that starts with game preservation.

- Player profiles from game's official servers are stored in local (aka. player's own hands) or decentralized locations through Firewood.
- Firewood creates a cryptographic hash and attach the hash on blockchain with player's own blockchain profile (aka. "wallet").
- Any server of the game will be able to fetch the profile from local or decentralized storage location, and verify its integrity/compatibility through blockchain.
- Only official servers will be able to generate and/or update profiles through Firewood. Non-official servers can read but have to keep profile updates local.

How Does it Work?

Firewood is for both gamers and game developers – preserving games and player profiles and fostering trust and unity between developers and gamers.
